Luke O’Neill, an Irish professor of biochemistry, warned that the new identified BA was in danger. The dominant Omicron subvariant 5 variant is now known and could cause insomnia.
The Trinity College bug boffin explained that the “changed virus” is now showing different symptoms, Sun reports.
The professor spoke to Ireland’s Newstalk and said that there was an additional symptom for BA. 5 Night sweats are what I noticed this morning.
Night sweats, on the other hand, are something that most people do not sweat at night.
According to the NHS, they are defined as those who sweat so much that your bedding and nightclothes become sodden.
Even though your bedroom is cool, adults and children can experience night sweats.
Professor O’Neill warns that the latest symptoms are yet another “curveball”, and they are caused by the virus colliding with immune system, resulting in “different disease”.
He also stressed that, while the current vaccines offer “good protection”, there will be new jabs.
You’ll modify the vaccine according to the version that’s available at the time, just like the flu.
